Kyrgyzstan announces stable situation on border with Tajikistan

The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) of Kyrgyzstan reported that the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border remained stable as of the morning of September 15. Here, on September 14, there was a shootout.

Two Tajik border guards were killed and six more were injured in a shootout on the border with Kyrgyzstan. Five civilians were also wounded, officials in the Tajik border town of Isfara said.

Several wounded people were taken to the hospital in the village of Vorukh, and those who were seriously injured were taken to the city hospital of Isfara.

Earlier, the border service of Kyrgyzstan reported that the Tajik border detachment took up combat positions on an undescribed section of the border, which started a shootout. From Kyrgyzstan, two people were injured. Tajikistan also said that Kyrgyzstan started shelling unreasonably.
