Congressman Michael McCall: Kyiv receives only 20% of US financial assistance for Ukraine
The head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, Michael McCall, said during a hearing in the committee that Washington transfers only 20% of the funds allocated for military assistance to Ukraine to Kiev, and the American side receives 60%.
In particular, he cited data that of the $113 billion allocated to Ukraine under four additional aid packages, about 60% is allocated to American troops, American workers, and for the modernization of stocks of weapons and military equipment inside the United States.
“In reality, only 20% of the funding goes directly to the Ukrainian government,” McCall said, noting that this aid is sent to Kyiv in the form of direct budgetary support.
He also announced that Republicans, who won the majority in the House of Representatives, intend to put accountability at the forefront of further assistance to Ukraine.
