Kyiv Avoids Confirming Storm Shadow Missile Strikes on Russia

Kyiv does not want to confirm the use of Storm Shadow missiles on Russian territory

Yuriy Ignat, adviser to the Ukrainian Air Force command, evasively answered the question of whether the Armed Forces of Ukraine had begun to use British Storm Shadow cruise missiles on Russian territory, RIA Novosti reported on Sunday.

According to the agency, Ignat was asked on the air of the Rada TV channel whether the Ukrainian authorities would inform the population about the use of these missiles or “we will see the results of their action.”

The adviser to the Air Force command said, answering the first part of the question: “the issue with the missiles has been resolved, everything has already been thought out.”

And touching the second part of it, he said: “I think you are right.”

As the Russian Defense Ministry reported, on May 12, Ukrainian aircraft attacked Lugansk with Storm Shadow missiles. The planes that fired these missiles were shot down by Russian fighter pilots.

We are talking about low-observable cruise missiles that are launched from aircraft that are jointly developed by the French Matra and the British British Aerospace. The price of one rocket is about 2 million pounds.

The range of these exported missiles, according to the American edition of The Drive, is 250 kilometers, but there are modifications that reach a distance of up to 560 kilometers.

The transfer of the Storm Shadow party by the UK to Ukraine became known this week. As CNN reported, London received assurances from the Kyiv regime that they would be used exclusively for purposes “on the sovereign territory of Ukraine.”

Moscow has repeatedly stated that Western military assistance to Ukraine only prolongs the conflict, and the transport of weapons becomes a legitimate target for the Russian Armed Forces.
