Kuzbass schoolboy became the winner of the All-Russian drone racing competition

School student from Novokuznetsk Maxim Nikiforov received two medals at once – gold and silver – at the third stage of the All-Russian competition “Russian Grand Prix-2023” in drone racing in Krasnoyarsk.

Maxim learned to operate a drone in the classroom at the Quantorium children’s technopark under the guidance of Konstantin Smagin.

The boy has been fond of electronics since childhood. At first, his parents sent him to the center of technical creativity, where he was engaged in robotics and programming. At the age of 11, Maxim himself assembled his first drone. And then, having pumped piloting skills, he began to participate in competitions.

Maxim prepared especially diligently for the last starts – he even equipped a home-made track in the country with cones and obstacles for practicing maneuvers. And the trainings gave the corresponding result – “gold” and “silver” in different nominations.

Now Maxim is preparing for the next races. The nearest competitions will be held at the end of July in Novosibirsk.

And in August, twenty gifted children from Kuzbass will go to Moscow to participate in Children’s Cultural Forum.
