Kuzbass karatekas won 14 medals at the international tournament

Kuzbass athletes took part in the international competition “31st Andrey Yakutov Memorial”, dedicated to the memory of one of the first Kyokushin athletes and coaches in Siberia. The tournament took place in Novosibirsk. Kuzbass karatekas competed for the Russian national team and brought 14 medals to the country’s treasury.
Young athletes aged 10 to 17 years from 16 countries took part in the competition. Russia took first overall team place. Kuzbass residents won 14 medals for the overall victory:
- “gold”: Angelina Sipaeva and Daria Kozlova (Leninsk-Kuznetsky), Irina Shaposhnikova and Kirill Sharunas (Kaltan), Shamil Dzhumaev (Novokuznetsk);
- “silver”: Ulyana Myagkikh (Kaltan), Fedor Kolesnikov (Leninsk-Kuznetsky), Polina Vavilova (Novokuznetsk);
- “bronze”: Arina Kuzmenko, Vasilisa Ryabchinskaya and Danil Matrokhin (Novokuznetsk), Alexander Skakalin and Alina Ivanova (Leninsk-Kuznetsky), Valeria Zatsepina (Kaltan).
Also, Kuzbass karatekas received 2 medals – as part of the Russian Cup and 8 more – in regional battles.
