More than 40 cubic meters of wood were collected in the Kursk region as part of a firewood campaign for participants in a special military operation (SVO), on the same day they tried to take out some of the firewood, told Governor Roman Starovoit in his Telegram channel.

The firewood harvesting campaign was held in the region on June 3, the wood was collected in a few hours, and more than 120 people participated in the event. The government then promised to repeat the action on June 17 and 24.

“This morning I learned that a certain Zyryanov Roman Vadimovich tried to take out some of the prepared firewood for his own needs. It turns out that not everyone is still aware of the need and importance of our unity to achieve a common result, especially in difficult times for the country,” Starovoit wrote. He expressed the hope that “an appropriate decision” would be made on the fact of what had happened within the framework of the law.

On April 3, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the creation of a fund to support participants in the special operation Defenders of the Fatherland. The head of state announced its creation on February 21 during a message to the Federal Assembly.

On May 11, the Russian government approved the fund’s charter. The main goal and task of the fund is the comprehensive support of veterans of the special operation and members of the families of the victims. The document provides for assistance in various areas of social and professional life. We are talking about education and professional retraining, the provision of free psychological, psychotherapeutic and legal assistance, and more.
