In the settlements of the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region bordering on Ukraine, 25 “arrivals” were recorded as a result of shelling by Ukrainian forces, declared Governor of the region Roman Starovoit.
“The border villages of the Glushkovsky district – Tetkino and Popovo-Lezhachi survived today more than 25 arrivals during the next shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Fortunately, there were no casualties,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
In the village of Popovo-Lezhachi, which suffered the greatest blow, civilian objects, several cars, agricultural machinery, and two power lines were damaged. Local residents managed to hide thanks to the work of the emergency alert system.
The border villages are located near the Sumy region of Ukraine, they have been repeatedly shelled after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. In this regard, on April 11, a “yellow” level of terrorist threat was introduced in the Kursk region, which was also repeatedly extended. On August 8, Starovoit made a decision once again extend “yellow” level of danger for another 15 days – until August 23.
