Kursk authorities canceled the Day of Jam for the sake of sending aid to the military

The governor of the Kursk region Roman Starovoit announced the cancellation of the Jam Day, which was planned to be held in the village of Krasnikovo on September 24. “We will send all the jam, honey, gingerbread and other sweets that were planned to be served at the holiday to our military,” the head of the region explained the decision in Telegram channel.

According to Mr. Starovoit, it is impossible to curtail all cultural or sporting events, however, in the first place, the inhabitants of the region should have a victory, for which they must “spend all their strength.” The governor clarified that military assistance is provided on an ongoing basis: “We purchase special equipment, high-tech optical devices and electronics, namely quadrocopters, thermal imagers, and surveillance devices through voluntary donations.”

However, at a meeting in the regional administration, Roman Starovoit said that he was aware of problems with humanitarian aid for members of the local volunteer battalion “Seim”. “They do not receive what we send them as humanitarian aid. More precisely, not everything works. Follow the whole path: where it is distributed, by whom it is distributed, and why our countrymen do not receive in full what our philanthropists and we send to you, ”the governor addressed his subordinates. In response, the chairman of the regional security committee, Mikhail Gorbunov, said that he contacted the district command and the head of the battalion, who initiated the check.

Battalion to support the troops participating in the special operation created in the Kursk region in July. In total, more than 800 volunteers went from the region to various military units.
