Kurgan governor urged residents to evacuate themselves in case of a fire threat

Vadim Shumkov, the head of the Kurgan region, where fires are raging, said that “in a number of places the situation is critical,” and because of the strong wind, aircraft cannot take off. He urged residents to evacuate themselves if threatened.
“Compatriots. The wind is squally. In some places the situation is critical. Aviation cannot rise into the air. Forces and means are working to break,” wrote Mr. Shumkov in the Telegram channel.
At about 13:30 Moscow time, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that residents of the village of Bely Yar (Ketovsky district, 14 km from Kurgan) were evacuated due to a fire threat. By 15:30 regional Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the threat to the village has been removed, but as a preventive measure, evacuation has been announced in the Kurgan microdistrict and the suburbs due to the threat of smoke.
Large fires in the Kurgan region have been reported since the end of April. In the village of Logoushka, Ketovsky district, more than 70 buildings were damaged, a person died. Fire extinguished longer than two days.
