Alena Volchkova, a schoolgirl from Kurgan, won a bronze medal at the world championship among girls under 16. The tournament takes place in Georgia, in the city of Batumi.
According to the press service of the governor of the Kurgan region, 426 young chess players take part in the competition. The Russians compete under the FIDE flag.
