Kudrin did not confirm the transition to Yandex

The former head of the Accounts Chamber, Alexei Kudrin, who was dismissed ahead of schedule today, did not confirm the information about the transition to “Yandex“, writes Interfax.

“I will refrain for now, because for now we need to pause. <...> When we choose, then we will say, ”he answered the question whether it is true that Yandex will become his new place of work. At the same time, Kudrin said that he had not yet “chosen a position”, answering about major projects at his new job.

Today, November 30, the Federation Council voted for the early dismissal of Kudrin from office. The day before, on November 29, he confirmed his resignation from the Accounts Chamber. After 25 years in the public sector, he says, he wants to take on big projects that “have a significant impact on people.”

According to media reports, Kudrin may soon get a new job at Yandex. TASS source informedthat the transfer of the head of the Accounts Chamber was carried out in the interests of the state and Yandex. Earlier The Bell, citing sources informedthat Yandex may have a new parent company. A specially created structure will be responsible for making key decisions in it, which will include the current top management of Yandex, and it will be Kudrin who will head it.

However, there is no official information about this yet. Despite this, the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, during the voting on the issue of early dismissal of Kudrin, hinted at his future place of work. “We hope, Alexey Leonidovich, that with your transition, the Federation Council will more often be in the top of Yandex with the important statements that we make,” she said (cit. according to RIA Novosti).

Kudrin has served as head of the Accounts Chamber since 2018, his powers were to expire in 2024. The Kremlin did not announce applicants for the post of head of the Accounts Chamber. Meanwhile, as informed previously RBC, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma, Alexander Zhukov, may become a candidate for this post. According to the source of the publication, he is the main candidate, Zhukov is personally supported by Kudrin, but other options are being considered.

November 25 “Yandex» informed on plans to split the group’s assets. Part of the business, including autonomous cars, cloud technologies, etc., will continue to operate in Russia, but their international parts will be spun off into independent companies managed by a company in the Netherlands.
