Kuban paraathletes won 6 medals at the national powerlifting championship

Kuban paraathletes won 6 medals at the national powerlifting championship among athletes with musculoskeletal disorders. They brought home a gold, three silver and two bronze awards, the press service of the Krasnodar Territory administration reported.

The competition took place in Yekaterinburg, with more than 150 paraathletes from 39 regions of the country taking part. Women competed for the title of champion in 10 weight categories, men in 9.

The Krasnodar Territory team included 9 paraathletes. Bronze medals were won by Tamara Boychenko from Sochi and Elena Kaloshina from the Labinsky district. Silver went to Tamara Ivanova and Yulia Vorontsova, both athletes live in the Ust-Labinsk region. Also, the second most important award was received by Alexey Golovan from the Labinsky district.

The winner in the 54 kg category among men was Vladimir Krivulya from Krasnodar. The athlete participated in the 2012 Paralympic Games, where he became a bronze medalist. The man has the title of Honored Master of Sports of Russia.

“Kuban athletes regularly demonstrate high results in competitions at various levels, showing that thanks to their perseverance and strength of character, there are no obstacles for them,” emphasized Deputy Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Alexander Vlasov.
