Kuban judokas won 2 medals at the Russian Championship

In Krasnoyarsk, the Russian judo championship among juniors and juniors under 21 has ended. The team of the Krasnodar Territory was represented by 33 athletes. Kuban judokas won 2 awards – silver on account of Ivan Mamaka, bronze – Polina Generalova.

Specially for MK in Kuban, the team’s performance was commented on by the director of the State Budgetary Institution of the KK SShOR for judo and sambo, Honored Coach of Russia Rudolf Baboyan.

– I note that our golden youth did not fight in Krasnoyarsk. That is, those guys who successfully performed at the Russian Championship in early November. This includes Russian champion Abrek Naguchev, silver medalist Timur Arbuzov, and bronze medalist Ksenia Galitskaya. By age, they could perform here, but they were given a rest. Therefore, the awards turned out to be less than it could be.

Nevertheless, our athletes won two medals, there were also 5th and 7th places. In the weight category up to 73 kilograms, Ivan Mamaki from Tuapse performed quite successfully, reached the final, where he lost to Isaev from the Chechen Republic. Ivan is a promising judoka, he practices a lot, and now he has achieved a high result. In the weight of 81 kg, an athlete from Armavir Gorleon Hambardzumyan took 5th place. It’s such a nice surprise from him. We can say that he and Mamaki 2 opening tournament. Also Daniil Nemchenko from Tuapse in weight up to 55 kg became the 5th. And this is the level of a candidate for the Russian national team.

Among the girls, Polina Generalova from Krasnodar took third place in the category over 78 kilograms. A very important result for her. She competed at the Russian Championship, but everything turned out unsuccessfully for her there. In a personal tournament, she did not even win. The judges did not like her kimono, and in the end she was not even allowed to wrestle. And in the team tournament she lost in the first fight. Here, in Krasnoyarsk, Polina was among the winners. I think it will help her to believe in herself. Also, Natalya Zueva from Labinsk in the category up to 44 kg became the 5th.

Until the end of the year, we still have many competitions in judo, sambo, and combat sambo. In particular, on December 6-10, Sochi will host the finals of the All-Russian project “Sambo to School,” the specialist noted.
