Kuban boxers won 4 medals at the Russian Championship in Chita

At the Russian boxing championship, athletes from the Krasnodar Territory won 4 medals. The tournament among men over 19 years old was held from September 29 to October 9 at Megapolis Sport in Chita. 500 strongest boxers from all subjects of the Russian Federation took part in the competition. Sets of awards were played in 13 weight categories.
In total Kuban was represented by 9 boxers, 4 of which took home awards. So, in the weight category up to 92 kilograms, the titled athlete Muslim Gadzhimagomedov became the best. In the weight category of 67 kilograms, Evgeny Kool from Anapa took silver. “Bronze” in the categories of 48 kilograms and 86 kilograms was won by Mikhail Prokopiev and Teimuraz Surov from the regional capital and Anapa.
Minister of Sports of the Krasnodar Territory Serafim Timchenko said that boxing is very popular in the Kuban. For example, almost 9,000 people do it in sports schools in the region. At the same time, the number of boxing fans in the region is growing every year. Serafim Timchenko added that this year the Russian national team included 62 Kuban boxers.
Recall that the largest number of athletes involved in boxing in the departments, there are in Sochi, Krasnodar, Anapa and the Slavic municipality. Also in the Kuban there is a regional public organization Boxing Federation and the Regional Center for Boxing Sports Training.
