The Kuban authorities do not have information about the proposed installation of a monument to the head of the Wagner PMC Evgeny Prigozhin and the group commander Dmitry Utkin on the territory of the chapel in Goryachiy Klyuch. Earlier, a photograph of the monument with full-length figures of the leaders of the “orchestra” appeared in the Gray Zone and “Wagner Orchestra” Telegram channels, and a little later the same photo was published on her social networks by journalist Anastasia Kashevarova.

In addition to the figures of Yevgeny Prigozhin and Dmitry Utkin, tokens with personal numbers of participants in a private military campaign are engraved on the monument: M-3308 and M-0209. According to Telegram channels, the monument will be installed on the territory of the chapel in Goryachiy Klyuch – it opened in 2018 in memory of the Russian volunteers of the Wagner PMC.

The press service of the Goryachy Klyuch administration could not provide any information about the proposed preparations for the installation of the monument. The press service of the Kuban administration also reported that they were not aware of such plans.

In June last year, Yevgeny Prigozhin led a “march of justice” from the Northern Military District zone towards Moscow. The PMC established control over military facilities in Rostov-on-Don and entered several regions with weapons. Russian authorities regarded these actions as an armed rebellion. The situation was resolved through the mediation of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. Yevgeny Prigozhin died on August 23 as a result of a plane crash in the Tver region. The commander of the Wagner PMC, Dmitry Utkin, and eight other people were also on board the Embraer business jet. They all died.
