International kickboxing competitions ended in Kemerovo, where Kuban athletes won seven medals.
Over a thousand athletes from 50 regions of Russia, as well as six countries of the world fought for the awards. For the first time, kickboxers of all age categories and genders competed at the tournament. The Krasnodar Territory was represented by five athletes.
The deputy head of the region, Alexander Vlasov, congratulated the athletes on their successful performance and noted that more than 7 thousand people are engaged in kickboxing in the Kuban. “According to the results of 2021 and ten months of this year, Kuban kickboxers won more than 120 medals at all-Russian and international competitions. This indicates a high level of training,” said the vice-governor.
As a result of the competition, the Kuban won seven medals. Gold was won by Kirill Stepanenko in the low-kick discipline in the 81 kg weight category, Amir Kubov in the K1 discipline (51 kg) and Alisa Lyarskaya in the 2006-2007 age category. in the discipline “K1” (52 kg).
The Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Krasnodar Territory, Serafim Timchenko, joined in the congratulations and added that at the moment the Russian kickboxing team includes 35 Kuban athletes. “We see their performance regularly at all-Russian competitions and at the international level,” he stressed.
