Athletes from the Krasnodar Territory won awards based on the results of the first days of the international tournament. In August Belarus hosts the II Games of the CIS countries. More than 2.2 thousand athletes from 23 countries will compete for victory in competitions in 20 sports, which are organized in 11 cities of the republic. Kuban is represented by 28 athletes.
So, the vice-governor of the region Alexander Vlasov said that the athletes of the region as part of the Russian team compete in 13 types of programs. According to the results of the first days, they have 8 medals, including 4 “gold” and 4 “silver”. Athletes have already surpassed rivals in Greco-Roman wrestling, beach volleyball and judo.
For example, in the Greco-Roman wrestling in the weight category of 82 kilograms Aues Gonibov took the first place, the third in the weight category of 97 kilograms was Artur Arzumanyan. In judo “gold” in the categories of 52 and 57 kilograms was taken by Valeria Kozlova and Ekaterina Zhdanova. “Bronze” in the categories of 48, 66 and 73 kilograms received Patimat Akhmetova, Yaroslav Bunakov and Rustam Hatkhohu. In beach volleyball, Arina Budzherak and Ulyana Beregovina became the best.
The competition will end on Monday, August 14th. At the moment, the Russian team is in the lead in the tournament, which in total was awarded 86 medals. The second place is held by the host team of the competition – 55 medals, the third place and 26 awards – from Uzbekistan.
Earlier, “MK in the Kuban” wrote that the national team of the Krasnodar Territory won the “silver” of the national championship in athletics.
