Kuban athletes won many medals at competitions in Malaysia

In Malaysia, in the capital of Kuala Lumpur, the world championship in Thai boxing among boys and girls in the age categories from 8 to 17 years was held. The competition ended on August 21st. Most medals were won by Russian athletes – a total of 63 awards, of which 43 are gold.
The tournament was attended by 9 athletes from the Krasnodar Territory, 6 of them received 4 medals of the highest standard, 1 silver and 1 bronze.
Among the young Kuban champions were Matvey Shikhov from Sochi (weight category up to 42 kg) and Melik Voskanyan (51 kg), as well as from Kranodar Georgy Yesayan (52 kg) and Airapet Pilunts, he became a silver medalist (56 kg). Among girls, Bella Zueva (50 kg), a resident of the regional center, became the winner, Polina Polinko (40 kg) became the bronze medalist.
Talented athletes from Russia performed in a neutral status under the flag of the International Federation of Muay Thai Associations (IFMA).
