Kuban athletes won 18 medals at the national rowing championship

Athletes from the Krasnodar region won 18 medals at the national rowing championship. The competition took place in Rostov-on-Don in September. Over 230 rowers from 15 constituent entities of the Russian Federation took part in them.

Kuban was represented at the tournament by 26 athletes. The rowers competed for 3 days for awards at a distance of 2,000 meters. Thus, according to the results of the team competition, the regional team took bronze. In the individual competition of the single race among men, Lev Dobryantsev from the regional center became the first. Among the singles skaters, Krasnodar resident Yulia Levina won gold, and second place went to Elizaveta Kovalskaya from the Slavyansky Municipality.

Alexander Kovalsky and Fyodor Tikhanov won silver in the sports tandem. In the women’s doubles, Alexandra Anichina from Temryuk and Maria Kubyshkina from Krasnodar came second. Alina Karpova and Tatyana Varshavskaya from the capital of Kuban won bronze.

In the men’s coxed eights, the region’s athletes won silver medals. The award was won by Pavel Sorin, Nikita Eskin, Alexey Mitienko, Vadim Semenyuta-Varshavsky, Ilya Ivanov, Alexander Matveev, Dmitry Yazikov, Artyom Greb and Alexander Nagrebelny.
