KSUFKST rugby-7 team won the tournament in Kislovodsk

The rugby-7 team of the Kuban State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism became the best among the students of the Southern Federal District and the North Caucasus Federal District. Competitions with the participation of 8 teams were held in Kislovodsk.
At the group stage, the KGUFKST team won all 3 matches. First, Krasnodar defeated the Don State Technical University from Rostov-on-Don (20:7), then the VA MFA of Russia from Volgograd (45:0) and KBGAU from Nalchik (42:0).
In the semi-finals, the Kuban team defeated VolGAU (Volgograd) 41:0, and in the decisive match they defeated Rostov DSTU for the second time – 29:5. Evgeny Sorokin was recognized as the best player of the team.
5th place in the tournament was taken by students of another Krasnodar university – the Kuban State Technological University.
Last year, students of KSUFKST won the All-Russian competitions in both the “seven” and classic rugby. As the winners of the regional qualifying stage, Krasnodar will once again compete for the title of the country’s strongest student rugby-7 team. The tournament will be held in October this year also in Kislovodsk.
