The sale of medicines unregistered in Russia to the Krug Dobra fund will be exempt from VAT, follows from the amendments to the Tax Code prepared by the Ministry of Finance and approved at a Cabinet meeting. The transfer of such medicines by the fund to state medical organizations will also be exempt from paying taxes.
Krug Dobra is not included in the list of organizations that can import unregistered drugs into Russia without paying VAT. This also requires permission from the Ministry of Health, specified in press release Ministry of Finance.
“Thanks to the exemption from VAT, the Fund will have additional funds that it can use to help treat children,” said Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.
The Circle of Kindness supports children with severe chronic diseases. Ministry of Health this week published a list of potentially scarce medicines that can enter the Russian market after accelerated registration or (in special cases) circulate in the country without registration by federal authorities.
