The head of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, Sergei Kravtsov, speaking about the possible abolition of the Unified State Examination (USE), said that momentary decisions cannot be made in the field of education.

“All decisions in the field of education should be discussed very carefully,” the minister told reporters. “I may seem conservative, but I believe that it is necessary to discuss,” he said, commenting on the issue. “You can’t make decisions … momentary in the field of education.”

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin adheres to the same approach. He believes that before making important decisions regarding the possible abolition of the exam, everything should be seriously weighed. “If there are alternative proposals, they should be systematically considered and discussed,” he said during the government’s report to the State Duma.
