Kravtsov assessed the impact of sanctions on education in Russia

Russian Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov said the sanctions have “not the slightest impact” on the country’s education system.
“We emphasize that the sanctions policy does not have the slightest influence on the development of the education system of the Russian Federation,” said Kravtsov (quote by Interfax). He also added that the restrictions of Western countries also do not affect the development of contacts with countries that seek “mutual respect and exchange of experience in the education system.”
The minister noted that the department is ready to invite officials and experts from New Zealand and Australia on education to study a clear picture of what is happening. “They will see with their own eyes the equipment of schools and other educational organizations in the Donetsk, Luhansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions,” he said.
On February 24, the authorities of Great Britain, New Zealand and Australia announced the introduction of new sanctions against Russia. The press service of the government of the kingdom declared on restrictions for 92 individuals and legal entities. The list includes Kravtsov, as well as Patriarch Kirill, Deputy Prime Ministers Denis Manturov, Alexander Novak, Victoria Abramchenko, Tatyana Golikova, Chairman of the CEC of the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova.
After the start of the military operation in Ukraine and the imposition of the first sanctions, Kravtsov called it a “window of opportunity” for the education system. Then he said that this would allow the development of domestic production.
