A representative of the capital of Kuban, Aues Gonibov, won gold at the world wrestling championship. The competition took place this fall in Albania. The Krasnodar resident performed in the Greco-Roman style and was the captain of the team.
In the final, the athlete fought with Turk Alperen Berber in the weight category up to 82 kilograms. The Russian managed to defeat his opponent with a score of 4:0.
“I’m proud of Aues. A stable, self-confident athlete, a real fighter in the literal and figurative sense. This season is especially successful for him. In August, Aues won the Second CIS Games, and a month ago in Serbia, at his first World Championships, he won the only medal for the Russian team. And now I have conquered another peak. Congratulations on the victory. Nothing can break Russian athletes, they are the best in the world,” commented the director of the sports department Boris Tikhonenko.
Earlier, MK in Kuban wrote that Krasnodar acrobats won gold at international competitions.
