In the 11th round of the Russian Football Championship, “Krasnodar”, losing to “Rostov” – 0:2, showed enviable moral and strong-willed qualities and won – 3:2. With 27 points he continues to lead the Premier League. Zenit took third place with 20 points, beating Sochi 2:0. Lokomotiv, having achieved a draw with Ural – 2:2, moved to fourth position with 19 points.

The program of the 11th round was opened by the match “Ural” With “Lokomotiv”. The Muscovites were in third place, and the Ekaterinburgers were in eighth, but only three points separated them. Already in the opening, the teams exchanged goals. Artem Dzyuba sent the ball into the net, which bounced off host goalkeeper Ilya Pomazun after Nair Tiknizyan’s cross from the left. And soon the almost two-meter Silvie Begic equalized the score with a header, winning the fight in the penalty area against the also quite tall Evgeniy Morozov. In the first half, both had more chances, but failed to convert them.

In the second half, Eric Bikfalvi brought Ural ahead by deftly collecting the rebound and piercing the ball into the goal from under the same Morozov.

At the same time, the Ekaterinburg team continued to sting Lokomotiv and, partly as a reward for active football, received a penalty when Tiknizyan unsuccessfully put his hand out when taking a corner. But goalkeeper Ilya Lantratov came to the rescue of the guests, twice, as the judges gave his namesake Ishkov the opportunity to make up for his unsuccessful first attempt and shoot home the penalty kick. And after this double rescue, Mikhail Galaktionov’s team snatched a draw in a fiery ending – 2:2.

In the 96th minute, central defender Lucas Fason, who had previously almost scored himself, gave an assist to Timur Suleymanov literally on an empty target. Although later Maxim Glushenkov could have brought victory to Lokomotiv, but then Pomazun saved Ural.

Having taken only one point in Yekaterinburg, the railway workers turned on the green light in front of “Zenith” and opened the way for him to third place. The St. Petersburg team only had to defeat away the team that had sunk to the bottom of the standings “Sochi”. This task was not particularly difficult. In addition, at the beginning of the meeting, Claudinho scored from a penalty awarded for a handball by Kirill Zaika.

Nevertheless, the Black Sea team caused trouble for the champion and almost equalized the missed goal through the efforts of Martin Kramaric, who hit the crossbar. But if they didn’t take advantage of their chances, then Zenit scored another, already ninth goal, from the championship’s top scorer Mateo Cassierra. However, in this case, the Colombian, assisted by Douglas Santos and Ivan Sergeev, relied more on technique than strength.

“Sochi” tried to come up with something even with the score 0:2, but without Christian Noboa, who left the field due to injury, it was already worse. The guests also didn’t come up with creative ideas in attack and simply brought the match to victory without any unnecessary incidents.

Zenit scored 20 points and was one ahead of Lokomotiv, moving up to third place.

Championship leader “Krasnodar” also met with a team from the bottom of the table – “Rostov”, which was in 12th place, and after Baltika won 1:0 against Orenburg, dropped to 13th. True, it was still not worth classifying the club from the banks of the Don as outsiders. They proved that the yellow-blues retain their fighting ability in the previous match with Ural, when they escaped defeat with a 0:2 score.

So in Krasnodar, the Rostovites looked quite competitive, and in the first half they were even noticeably better than the hosts. It was the guests who had the initiative and spent more time on the other side of the field. It was still difficult for them to break through the most reliable defense in the Russian Premier League, but as soon as she made a serious mistake, she was immediately punished. More precisely, goalkeeper Matvey Safonov made a mistake, as if he forgot that his former teammate Alexey Ionov was already playing for Rostov, and played the ball to him like a family member. He instantly got his bearings, made an express delivery into the penalty area, and Danil Glebov hit the goal with a juicy shot.

Then Safonov almost scored another goal when he gave the ball to Mohammad Mohebi, but the Iranian made the wrong decision and, instead of finishing the episode on his own, played on Ionov, who was blocked by Alexander Chernikov. But Mokhebi managed the next moment wisely and powerfully shot under the bar after Egor Golenkov’s discount. Rostov led 2:0, and Krasnodar has never been so close to failure in the current championship.

Only in the second half did the Kuban team remember that they were the leaders of the RPL, and not their opponent. Eduard Spertsyan reduced the difference quite early, firing into the bottom corner from outside the penalty area. Then John Cordoba reminded himself, ramming the central defenders in his signature style and running away one on one with the goalkeeper. Sergei Pesyakov barely fought off the Colombian.

In general, the Rostovites recently missed out on two victories when they were leading with a comfortable plus-two advantage. And now we have stepped on the same rake again.

And if Kadi Borjis missed from a lethal position, then Spertsyan’s standard corner turned out to be effective. Visiting striker Nikolai Komlichenko wanted to help in defense, but he jumped onto the ball extremely unsuccessfully and cut it into his own goal.

Moreover, Rostov in the end did not even hold on to a draw. In the 95th minute, Cordoba struck a three-pointer, and the black-and-greens pulled out this very difficult game – 3:2. Krasnodar now has 27 points and is still the only team with zero losses.
