“Krasnodar” missed the penalty again and missed the victory

At the start of the sixth round of the Russian Championship, the leaders lost two points each. CSKA played a 1-1 draw with Orenburg, while Krasnodar failed to beat Fakel 0-0. But the Kuban team with 14 points is still in first place and may well keep it until the next round.

Match with CSKA was the debut of a new head coach “Orenburg” David Deogracia, who recently took over the team from Jiri Yaroshik. The Spanish specialist, who previously headed the club’s academy, had to start almost from scratch, as following the results of five rounds of the championship, the South Urals scored only one point and dropped to last place. And the opponent for the beginning he got too serious. By the way, the army team, who not so long ago defeated Orenburg on its field with a score of 6:0 in the Russian Cup, also contributed to the resignation of Yaroshik.

According to the first impressions, the coaching reshuffle mobilized the hosts, and they even showed some glimpses of the sharp game that they showed in the past, a very successful season for themselves.

The attacks of the Orenburgers looked more dangerous, although they certainly lacked a logical conclusion. On goal, both teams hit rarely and not aptly. However, Yuriy Kovalev had a good opportunity to score when he pushed through Ivan Oblyakov and found himself one on one with Vladislav Torop, who again replaced Igor Akinfeev. In that episode, the 19-year-old goalkeeper was not at a loss, but when Brian Mansilla fired from a distance for good luck, he made a mistake and gave a chance to finish. Torop was lucky that his blemish was cleaned up by the defender. However, CSKA created a scoring opportunity before the break, when Fedor Chalov, in splendid isolation, went to the goalkeeper and Nikolai Sysuev parried his shot.

The hosts played well in the second half, but conceded from a corner, allowing Anton Zabolotny to throw the ball at Moizes with a second pace, who headed it into the net. At the same time, “Orenburg” did not get lucky, when then Kovalev also hit his head and hit the post. The army team released their fresh newcomer, Chilean striker Victor Davila, to replace them, but Deogracia’s wards put more pressure, and they finally crushed the guests. A rather simple combination with a canopy into the penalty area by the Argentine team Brian Mansilla-Lucas Vera led to a return goal. Moreover, the more powerful Mansilla served, and the little Vera brought up the rear. Already before the final whistle, Stepan Oganesyan could have brought the first victory to the Orenburgers, but the crossbar saved the Muscovites. It turned out to be a 1:1 draw, and CSKA, which seemed to be in the status of a clear favorite, failed to climb to an intermediate third place, reducing the gap between Krasnodar and Ural to a minimum.

Both in Orenburg and in Voronezh the favorite was obvious. “Torch” took the first points only in the fifth round of the championship, defeating Paris Nizhny Novgorod at home, and was in 15th place, while “Krasnodar” was in the lead in the Premier League, albeit not alone, ahead of the Urals only in additional indicators. But the Kuban also had difficulties.

As in the previous match with Lokomotiv, they again did not convert a penalty, which was appointed for the handball of the hosts’ midfielder Nikita Motspan. It didn’t even help that the black-and-greens, as they say, changed their legs, and instead of Eduard Spertsyan, John Cordoba approached the “point”. The Colombian deceived goalkeeper Vitaly Gudiev and hit the post exactly. And then Nikita Krivtsov also hit the crossbar after a pass from Cordoba. True, with all the problems with the implementation, Krasnodar defended itself almost flawlessly. The maximum that Fakel could count on in such a game was a 0-0 draw. He had zero chances in the first half.

But in the second half, it was the Voronezh team that nearly broke the score.

Just an incredible save was made by the guests’ goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, when Ilnur Alshin hit his head from close range, and even with a rebound from the lawn. Meanwhile, Krasnodar somehow completely stopped generating sharp situations in attack, and a goalless draw already seemed like an absolutely natural outcome. Gradually, the teams completely forgot about the gates and got stuck in a kind of clinch. In the end, Krasnodar twice had close to the goal of the young Alexander Koksharov, and yet there were no goals in this match. The championship leader got hold of only one point, but considering that Ural is waiting for a meeting with Zenit, it is very likely that he will remain the first with 14 points.
