Governor of Primorye Oleg Kozhemyako said that he and the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko proposed Sofya Sapega and Roman Protasevich to get married, but Protasevich refused.
“I talked to this girl who they helped get out of prison. I just fell in love with this guy. He dumped her. I talked to Alexander Grigorievich, we offered them to get married and let them out, but he (Protasevich) refused her,” Kozhemyako said during a meeting of the youth discussion club “Pacific Horizon”.
Let us remind you that Belarusian citizen Protasevich and Russian citizen Sapega were detained in May 2021 after the plane on which they were flying to Vilnius was forced to land in Minsk. Sapega was sentenced to six years in prison for inciting social hatred and publishing information about the private life of security forces. In June 2023, Sophia was pardoned. Protasevich was also pardoned.
