Kostromich caught a 7.5 kg pike perch during the regional spearfishing championship

The results of the open championship of the Kostroma region in underwater hunting “Volga Hunter-2023” have been summed up (MK in Kostroma previously reported about its holding). This time, participants from Kostroma, Nerekhta and Vladimir gathered on the bank of the Volga tributary, the Kuban River. They had to prove themselves in individual and team competitions while hunting fish using pneumatic and crossbow guns.

The task was not easy – after all, the water temperature in the Volga is now only +6 degrees, visibility is no more than half a meter, and you cannot use bait and echo sounders.

However, Kostroma resident Alexander Klevtsov, relying only on his experience and instinct, found a fishing spot – a snag in which a pike perch weighing 7500 grams was hiding. The catch of such a big fish made the Kostroma resident the winner in the personal championship. In the team competition, the teams from Nerekhta and Vladimir became the best – they caught 7 kilograms of fish each.
