Kostroma “Volzhanin” claims prizes in the Russian Volleyball Championship

The Regional Committee for Physical Education and Sports reports on the interim results of the first round of the Russian Volleyball Championship among men. Volleyball battles, in which teams from 14 regions of central Russia participated, took place at the Kostroma volleyball center “Volzhanin”. Our team played twice in its native walls with the MSTU team from Moscow – the Kostroma team won one match, but lost to the Muscovites in the second.
However, “Volzhanin” does not give up and Kostroma volleyball players are determined to win in the next rounds, when they will have to meet teams from Moscow, Yaroslavl and St. Petersburg. These games will be held in Kostroma on October 13 and 14 (matches start at 18:00) and October 21 and 22 (starts at 17:00). On the road, the Volga team will have to play in both capitals, Kazan and Izhevsk. The competition will end in April, and, as the director of the Volzhanin club Sergei Litvinov says, “we now have a task at the preliminary stage to enter the top four teams. In March we begin the final stage and this year we have set ourselves the task of being among the winners.” Well… We will root for Volzhan…
