Kostroma residents will celebrate Russia Day with a half-marathon race

The press service of the Kostroma City Hall reports that on Russia Day, June 12, the main event of the holiday will be a half-marathon race, which will be organized as part of the Golden Ring Run project. The sports event will be held in our city under the slogan “Great, Kostroma!”; it is expected that up to 2,500 people from 41 regions of Russia will take part in it.
In addition to the 21.1 km half marathon itself, the program of the sporting event includes races at distances of 3, 5 and 10 km. In addition, 600-meter races will be organized – one for people with disabilities, the other for the youngest first-graders. For preschoolers aged 4 and over, routes of 300 and 600 meters are planned. For the sake of laughter, the traditional run of the Snow Maidens “Fun run” will also be held.
Anyone can register to participate in the race on the website of the project “Running along the Golden Ring”.
At the end of the races, their participants and spectators will be able to watch a concert program dedicated to the Day of Russia on Susanin Square.
