The Regional Committee for Physical Education and Sports reports on the participation of Kostroma figure skaters in the Figure Skating Jumping Championship taking place this weekend in Moscow.
This new version of the sport was invented by the Russian Figure Skating Federation just a year ago and is being held for the second time.
In 2024, two Kostroma figure skaters will also participate in the new championship – Ekaterina Koltsova and Arina Mokhova. They both train under the guidance of Yulia Toshchakova.
On Saturday, the qualifying stage of the competition took place in Moscow, during which the Kostroma figure skaters had to complete a solo jump and a cascade of two jumps within a minute.
Ekaterina Koltsova successfully performed a triple flip and triple loop, as well as a triple lutz-triple toe loop cascade and tried to go for a triple lutz-triple loop, but fell from the second jump in the cascade. Total — 17.37 points.
Arina Mokhova was luckier – in a minute she performed a triple flip twice and a combination of a triple Lutz and a triple ritbreger, scoring 17.81 points.
Today on Sunday the main tournament will be held according to the playoff principle. Both Kostroma figure skaters have already reached the quarter finals and will compete for the title of the strongest Russian figure skaters in jumping.
