The Olympic champion in figure skating Roman Kostomarov in Kommunarka recently underwent a new serious operation on his leg, informed portal Prozvezd with a link to a doctor from this medical institution.

Kostomarov ended up in intensive care on January 10, after performing in a New Year’s show, some of which took place outdoors, in frost. It was reported that the skater did not feel well, but continued to perform. As a result, he was hospitalized with severe pneumonia, lung damage was 75%.
Kostomarov was connected to ventilators and ECMO. He developed sepsis and the death of the limbs began. His feet and fingers were amputated.
