Kostin said that Russia’s GDP will return to the level of 2021 in four to five years

The head of VTB Andrey Kostin said that by the end of 2022, BBB will decrease by 4%, in 2023 – by 1.5%. In his opinion, Russia’s GDP will be able to return to the level of 2021 by 2026-2027.
“We believe that somewhere in the region of a 4% drop this year … Next year we expect a 1.5% decline in GDP and in 2024 we will already reach economic growth on an annual basis. In general, the level of 2021, we believe, can be achieved in four to five years,” Andrey Kostin said at the Eastern Economic Forum (quoted from TASS).
According to the Ministry of Economy, Russia’s GDP will decrease by 4.2%, in 2023 – by 2.7%. Initially, the Ministry of Economy predicted a decline in GDP by 8% by the end of 2022, in 2023 – by 0.7%. In the Kremlin expectthat the fall in GDP in 2022 will be about 2%.
