The world record for the distance of non-stop flight in a hot air balloon was set by traveler Fyodor Konyukhov and President of the Aeronautical Sports Federation Ivan Menyailo. Information about this appeared in Konyukhov’s telegram channel.
A hot air balloon driven by travelers covered a distance of 2,540 kilometers during a transcontinental flight, thereby breaking the record set by Japanese pilot Michio Kanda in 1994. Russia now holds two world records: both in range and in the duration of a non-stop flight.
It is noted that the pilots also made the first flight in a balloon with an open basket over the water in the northern latitudes.
