On March 14, 2024, information appeared in the media that after checking information about stray cats getting burns at the Komsomolskaya poultry farm in the Kungursky district of the Perm Territory, a criminal case was opened against unidentified persons.
According to the press service of the enterprise, the internal security service of the poultry farm is currently conducting an internal audit to establish all the details of the incident and is actively cooperating with representatives of law enforcement agencies.
“Our company takes full responsibility for environmental protection and compliance with all biosafety standards, which is confirmed by the availability of appropriate certificates. We are currently conducting an investigation, which actually revealed the fact that minor harm was caused to the health of two cats. Fortunately, the cats are alive and are now being rehabilitated at a pet shelter. The management of the poultry farm paid for the treatment and is helping the shelter by supplying food for the animals. The alleged culprit of the incident no longer works at the factory, said Igor Belkov, director of the Komsomolskaya poultry farm. “Many of us have pets at home, including cats, and no one could even imagine that something like this could happen. At the beginning of the year, employees received orders to clear the area of animals, transferring them to shelters, including those we support on an ongoing basis. The news that one of them decided to harm animals came as a bolt from the blue to us. People like this have no place among our employees. Based on the results of the internal investigation, the person involved will be punished as part of the criminal case. In addition, all employees of the enterprise will undergo additional training to avoid recurrence of such situations, and control over compliance with the rules will be strengthened.”
