The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has developed a manual for doctors, according to which they must communicate with Russian women who want to have an abortion. Informs about it “Kommersant” with reference to departmental documents sent to several regions of the country.
According to the publication, these documents were received by doctors of the Primorsky and Kamchatka Territories, as well as the Arkhangelsk, Kaluga, Novgorod, Tula and Magadan regions.
The training manual says that it is not necessary to put pressure on a woman “in a state of reproductive choice”. Doctors should only focus on the positive aspects of motherhood. They must assure the woman that even with a child she will find a mate.
For each of the age categories, special speech constructions have been worked out – even for underage pregnant women. It is also recommended to give a referral to a psychologist for those who doubt to leave the child.
The recommendations of the department indicate that doctors should not say that the patient makes a mistake if she refuses to give birth.
If the mother leaves the child, then doctors should be praised. The following speech construction is suggested: “I am very happy for you. That’s the right decision”.
