The government subcommittee on improving the control and licensing functions of state bodies approved a draft resolution, within the framework of which it is allowed to make changes to the Rules of the Road (SDA). It is reported by “businessman“with reference to a source in the Cabinet.
As the newspaper notes, after the approval of the document by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Transport will be able to make changes to the traffic rules until 2029. De facto, this means that work will begin on the creation of new traffic rules, which should be completed within six years.
The current traffic rules were adopted in 1993, for almost 30 years more than 50 amendments have been made to them. In 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers forbade changing traffic rules without a complete reissue.
At the same time, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Internal Affairs sought an exception for the SDA, since the reissue is a long and complicated procedure.
