The government has approved amendments according to which a criminal case may be refused against an entrepreneur if he has paid tax arrears and penalties. About it informed Kommersant, citing a source in the government.
It is clarified that if the entrepreneur has paid all the arrears and penalties, the criminal case against him may also be terminated. At the same time, the draft law provides for a reduction in the time within which it will be possible to hold an entrepreneur accountable for tax evasion – they will actually be equated to the time for storing reporting documentation.
According to the newspaper, the government will approve the draft amendments tomorrow, February 22. After that, the document will be submitted to the State Duma for consideration.
According to the text of the explanatory note, the bill was developed after the corresponding decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin following a meeting with members of the Delovaya Rossiya expert center in February 2022. The instruction was published back in April 2022. The due date was June 1, 2022.
According to Kommersant, the development of the amendments was delayed due to disagreements between the Ministry of Justice on the one hand and the Ministry of Finance and the UK on the other.
