Kommersant announced Yadro’s plans to start production of smartphones

The Russian IT company Yadro (part of ICS-Holding) plans to start production and production of smartphones under the Kvadra brand. About it informed Kommersant, citing sources.
It is assumed that production can be started in Dubna in 2024. At the same time, the company does not plan to launch the production of smartphones in the SKD mode from Chinese components. Instead, Yadro will organize the production of printed circuit boards, and in the future will move to work on its own RISC-V processor.
Yadro is a Russian IT company that develops and manufactures servers, microprocessors, as well as telecommunications and network equipment. Now the company’s lineup includes a monoblock, a laptop and a PC.
At the end of May introduced its first Kvadra T tablet running on the Kvadra OS operating system. Also, the gadget is compatible with the Aurora OS, which is used by clients from the corporate and public sectors. The tablet with such OS will become available before the end of summer of 2023, specified in Yadro.
