Komissarov commented on the appointment to the post of acting. Rector of RANEPA

Taking office Rector of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) is a great honor and great responsibility, told “Vedomosti” Vice-Rector Alexei Komissarov appointed to this post on January 23.

“For me, RANEPA is my native university. <...> For me, taking office. Rector of the RANEPA under the President is a great honor and great responsibility. I will also continue to work as the CEO of the Presidential Platform “Russia is a Land of Opportunities,” Komissarov said.

Komissarov spoke about plans to take a balanced approach to all changes at the university, discussing them with the faculty, trustees and scientific councils of the academy. According to him, “all changes will be preceded by a thorough audit.” He stressed that the student will always be the main person in the university.

“We will preserve all the key developments of our university, continue to strengthen existing programs and consider the need to introduce new relevant programs that meet the needs of both employers and the students themselves,” he said.

Komissarov also expressed hope that Vladimir Mau, the former rector of the RANEPA, would continue to participate in the life of the academy as an expert. He specified that the issue of Mau’s honorary position would be discussed with him.

In addition, Komissarov said that for the time being he would remain the director of the Higher School of Public Administration (HSGU) of the RANEPA. In the future, a decision will be made on the new leader, he said.

Order to release Mau from the post of Rector of the RANEPA, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed today, January 23rd. It is clarified that Mau, who has held the position of rector of the Academy of National Economy under the government since 2002, and since 2010 – RANEPA, was removed from this post at his “own request due to the state of health.”

Komissarov has been working at RANEPA since 2009, when he began teaching entrepreneurship as part of the MBA program. He has been in the position of Vice-Rector since 2017, at the same time he headed the Institute of the Higher School of Public Administration of the RANEPA. In addition, since 2018, Komissarov has been the general director of the ANO “Russia – the Land of Opportunities”.
