The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, decided to award policemen who distinguished themselves in solving a high-profile crime in the Nizhny Novgorod region – blowing up a car in which the writer Zakhar Prilepin was driving. This was announced on Saturday by the official representative of the department, Irina Volk.
We are talking about employees of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Semenovsky urban district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, who showed “high professionalism shown in solving a high-profile crime,” said Volk.
She clarified that on Saturday the police received a message about a car explosion in one of the villages of the Bor district. As a result of the explosion, one person died, and Prilepin, who was in the car, was injured.
Volk said that the deputy head of the UUP and PDN department of the department for the Semenovsky urban district, police lieutenant colonel Yekaterina Sirotina, senior district major Alexander Sokolov, and district lieutenant Dmitry Voevodin, in hot pursuit, discovered and detained a previously convicted man suspected of involvement in the car bombing.
According to Volk, Vladimir Kolokoltsev will sign the order to award police departmental awards in the near future.
