Klishas reacted to Bastrykin’s proposal to introduce state ideology

Senator Andrei Klishas in his telegram channel appreciated the idea of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, to rewrite the Constitution of the country. In response to this, the senator quoted to the head of the Russian department some provisions of the fundamental law of the Russian Federation.
Responding to the proposal of the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia to enshrine state ideology in the Constitution, Klishas noted that the law clearly speaks of “ideological diversity” in the Russian Federation. Only the adoption of a new Constitution can change this rule, the senator shared his point of view.
“The provision that “no ideology can be established as a state ideology” (Part 2 of Article 13) is aimed at maintaining political diversity and multi-party system (Part 3 of Article 13), and not at banning ideology as such,” – Klishas wrote in his publication.
The senator reminded Bastrykin that the Constitution is “a living document, not a monument,” therefore, in any case, it undergoes a number of changes in the process of the country’s development. The politician pointed out that the current text of the main law, approved in the 2020 edition, meets all the needs of current Russian society.
Earlier, Bastrykin said that work on the Constitution of the Russian Federation should continue, and it is necessary to prescribe the state ideology in it.
