A bill prohibiting Russians from distributing in the media and the Internet pictures and videos of places of shelling, drone attacks, and other military information has been prepared by Russian senators. The exception will be information and materials officially announced, published or distributed by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
This was reported by TASS with reference to the head of the Federation Council committee on constitutional legislation and state building Andrei Klishas.
He explained that it was proposed to ban the distribution in media messages and materials, as well as on the Internet, of photo or video materials containing information about the deployment and redeployment of the RF Armed Forces, military infrastructure, critical facilities that make it possible to identify their location, establish the fact of their damage or assess the nature of the damage caused.
In addition, they want to prohibit the dissemination of information about the location of the shelling or the impact of a projectile on the territory of the Russian Federation, about the use of weapons, air defense systems, UAVs and other special means of destruction, allowing us to understand their type, location, launch site or flight path, the senator explained.
An exception, according to Klishas, will be cases where such information was made public by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
