Kiriyenko visited the Kherson region after the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station

First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Sergei Kiriyenko arrived in the Kherson region after flooding as a result of the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. About it informed State Duma deputy Igor Kastyukevich in his Telegram channel.

“First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Sergei Kiriyenko arrived at one of the TACs to find out how the evacuation of people is going and what kind of assistance is needed. We talked. <...> Today, together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, we are working out addresses where people can still stay in Aleshki, Gola Pristan, nearby villages and dachas,” Kastyukevich wrote.

The deputy added that from June 8, points of reception of citizens “on all issues” will be opened at temporary accommodation centers (TAPs). According to him, people continue to arrive at TAPs in Skadovsk and Zhelezny Port.

Military commissar Semyon Pegov, author of the WarGonzo Telegram channel, informedthat Kiriyenko had already visited Aleshki, Golaya Pristan and other settlements affected by flooding. Pegov said that delegations from the presidential administration “actually had to work in the shelling zone,” as the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to strike at the territory where the evacuation is being carried out.

Earlier today, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov informedthat the head of state is not yet planning a trip to the Kherson region.

The breakthrough of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station occurred on the night of June 6. As a result of the incident, an uncontrolled discharge of water began, the level of which reached more than 11 m. A local emergency regime was introduced on the territory of the district, and an emergency regime was also introduced on the territory of the Kherson region.

According to the latest data, more than 4,000 people were evacuated from the Kherson region. As a result of the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station in the Kherson region died five people. Number of casualties earlier today increased up to 60.

Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Kyiv committed a deliberate sabotage, stressing that the Russian side rejects allegations of involvement in the incident. Russian President Vladimir Putin named what happened as a barbaric action by the Ukrainian authorities, which led to a large-scale environmental and humanitarian catastrophe.
