Kenyan athlete Faith Kipyegon set a new world record in the 5,000 meters. Ethiopian athlete Lameha Girma has updated the record in the 3,000 meters steeplechase. The best ever result was also shown by the Norwegian Jakob Ingebrigtsen at a distance of 2 miles (3218 m).
