A source close to the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) reported that the Kinzhal missiles, which MiG-31K aircraft will use to patrol the Black Sea, will have the ability to change target designation during flight, and not just from the ground. TASS reports this.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on October 18 that he had instructed the Russian Aerospace Forces to begin constant patrolling of the space over the Black Sea using aircraft equipped with Kinzhal complexes.
“Now the MiG-31K will begin to carry out duty in the Black Sea, and the Kinzhal missiles with which they are armed can be programmed directly on board the aircraft. This means that retargeting will take place in flight conditions, and not on the ground,” the source explained agencies.
