Kinopoisk puts the 18+ mark on the cartoon “My Little Pony”

The children’s cartoon “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” received an 18+ age label on the online cinema “Kinopoisk”. The online cinema support service explained the labeling as “new legal restrictions.”
“Due to new legislative restrictions related to the dissemination of information among children, we have changed the age labeling of some films and TV series on Kinopoisk,” support told Mediazona (recognized as a foreign agent).
The support service did not provide any other details. One of the main characters of the animated series Rainbow Dash has a rainbow mane and tail.
On November 30, 2023, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized the “international public LGBT movement” as extremist and banned its activities in the country. Since 2022, Russia has had a law banning LGBT propaganda among people of all ages.
