Kim Jong-un: North Korea can occupy South Korea if the need arises
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said that the DPRK considers the Republic of Korea its constant enemy and is ready to occupy its territory in the event of emergency circumstances requiring its own security. The statement by the head of the DPRK, dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the founding of the Korean People’s Army, is quoted by the Korean Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA).
As Kim Jong-un noted, not long ago the Workers’ Party of Korea and the government of the DPRK summed up the history of the split and confrontation of the Korean people. According to the North Korean leader, identifying “South Korean puppets” as the most harmful and always the main enemy of the country, as well as deciding to occupy South Korea in case of emergency as the state’s national policy are reasonable measures aimed at the DPRK’s eternal security, peace and stability in future.
Last December, Kim Jong-un made a statement that the country’s ruling party no longer considered it possible to unify the Korean Peninsula through dialogue.
