On Sunday, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin said in his Telegram channel that work is continuing on the Crimean Bridge to eliminate the consequences of the July 17 terrorist attack.

In his video message, the Deputy Prime Minister summed up the main results of the past week.

“We were able to get one reversal lane up and running on the first day,” he says.

According to him, “it was not an easy technical, organizational, political decision.”

Now, as Khusnullin noted, “vehicles are already moving along the Crimean bridge and bypassing the new territories,” “80 people and 5 pieces of equipment are working on the bridge itself.” In addition, “metal is being made, materials are being transported or have already been partially brought to install a temporary bridge.” From this bridge, as he explained, “work will be carried out to eliminate the consequences of the terrorist attack.”

Earlier, he told reporters that it was tentatively planned to restore two-way traffic on one side of the bridge by September 15, and on the other by November 1.

The bridge, according to the NAC, was attacked on the night of July 17 with the help of two Ukrainian surface unmanned vehicles. A wife from the Belgorod region died, their 24-year-old daughter was wounded. A criminal case has been opened on the attack.

The movement of cars on the bridge on July 18 was restored in reverse mode.
