Car traffic was started on the left side of the Crimean Bridge, reported Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
“The left side of the Crimean Bridge was opened to vehicle traffic ahead of schedule. Despite the large volume of tasks, it took us only 59 days to restore,” the Deputy Prime Minister said in the Telegram channel.
It is clarified that the work was completed one day earlier. “The replacement of the second span is ahead. We expect to fully open traffic by November 1,” concluded Khusnullin.
On the night of July 17, the Crimean Bridge was attacked by Ukrainian surface drones, as a result of which the automobile part of the bridge was damaged. Then two people died – a man and a woman, who were driving along it in a car, and their minor daughter was injured.
The last time the bridge across the Kerch Strait was attacked was on October 8, 2022. As a result of the explosion of a truck passing over it, a car part was also damaged and three people were killed.
The peninsula is regularly subject to drone attacks. Previously the Ministry of Defense reportedthat on the morning of September 14, 11 drones were shot down over Crimea. In Crimea and Sevastopol, the “yellow” (high) level of terrorist threat is in effect indefinitely.
